The latest update to Smartsoft's Front Desk® 2011 software incorporates the following features.

Web Viewable Appointment Book

View your appointments using a standard web browser. This functionality is ideal to allow practitioners and admin staff to view the appointment book while off site.

Scanning Integration

You can now run a paper-less office by directly scanning documents into Front Desk®.

Group Appointments

Add multiple patients to one appointment when booking group sessions, classes or families.

Robust and Scalable Client/Server Architecture

Front Desk® is based on MS SQL Server database server for reliability and scalability from one to many workstations. Due to this advanced architecture, Front Desk® is one of the few products on the market, which can link more than one site over a Wide Area Network (WAN) or Internet connection.

When you install the trial version you may also learn more about the system by selecting the online help button from the toolbar or the 'Help' button found on most pop-up windows.

The Appointment Book

accommodates the adding, editing and deleting of appointments and group appointments. Several reports regarding appointments can be generated from the appointment book. Receipts and accounts can also be made from the appointment book.

The Patient File

contains information regarding the patient, details such as personal details, records their transactions and appointments, referrers and allows receipts, bills and payments to be processed.

Patient X-rays

functionality allows you to import digital x-rays and reports into patient files.

Patient Photos

inserts a picture on the General tab of their file.

Clinical Notes

are used to document the treatment and history of a patient. Charts are used to display standard body diagrams (or other images) and can easily be drawn on by a practitioner.

The Banking Sheets / Shift Reports

generate reports such as banking sheets, transaction reports and summary reports. The period of time for these reports may be pre-set as a clinic shift in System Information.

The Transactions Report

displays all transactions (credits, debits) between two selected dates. This can preview transactions for the entire clinic or for an individual practitioner.

Statements and Invoices

generate batch printing of statements and invoices.

The Cash Book

provides a means to keep track of out-going finances.

The Billings Report

provides billing and/or payment information for each practitioner for a specified period of time.

The Trend Analysis

provides a graphical method to view clinic billing trends.

The Time Management Report

provides information on the amount of time a practitioner is booked on the appointment book between two selected dates.

Treatment Reports

are used to help manage patient treatment plans. If an insurer only approves a certain number of treatments at a time, a treatment plan can be activated for that patient and an entry on the Treatments Report will appear when it is time to request more treatments.

The Recall Patient List

report generates a list of patients whose recall dates fall within the specified period of time. The recall may refer to the making of an appointment or the returning of a borrowed item.

The Active / Inactive Patients Report

generates a list of patients who have either been to the clinic within a specified period of time (Active) or who have not been to the clinic since a specified period of time (Inactive).

The Birthday List Report

generates a list of patients whose birthday falls between two selected dates.

The Patient Referrals Report

generates a list of patients or entities that have referred a patient within a specified period of time. The amount billed for each referred patient is detailed.

The Patient List Report

generates a list of patients whose details correspond with a variety of selected options.

The Practitioner File

contains information such as qualifications, provider number and defaults of each practitioner.

Charge Items

contains item codes that are used at the clinic and pricing.

System Information

contains information regarding the clinic, such as, contact and banking details, default settings, appointment book setup and paper sizes.

Back Up

It is very important to backup the data from any system that contains valuable information. Front Desk® 2011 offers a built in fast backup to make this task easier.

Medicare and DVA Online Claiming Integration

  
Fast and easy direct online processing of Medicare and DVA claims. This interface will allow you to lodge Medicare and DVA claims through a secure internet connection for less paper work, faster payment and greater patient satisfaction.

HICAPS Integration

 
allows for more efficient patient bill processing and improved reconciling of HICAPS payments from health funds. No more double keying of information into your practice management system and HICAPS terminal. Produce HICAPS reports by health funds to make reconciling payments easy!

EFTPOS

Save time when processing EFTPOS transactions with our software integration to your HICAPS terminal.

Messages can be sent directly to patient mobile phones or their email address using the SMS and Email Integration.

The integrated Stock Control

keeps a track of stock levels and details of suppliers and stock.

Patient Events

is used to record specific events or activities in a patient file, such as having an x-ray or sending a letter. When sending Emails and SMS messages these are automatically stored in the patients Events tab.

Quotations

can be used to quote patients for a particular treatment or product.

Medical Specialist Referrals Option

should be activated if your profession requires referrals from a medical practitioner or other health professional for your services to be paid. This option is generally reserved for medical specialist.

Future Billings

can be used by practices that wish to bill items at a future date. This can be helpful when negotiating payments over time with patients for high value services such as Orthodontics.

Multiple Locations

support when running Front Desk® 2011 at two or more locations concurrently over a WAN (Wide Area Network).

Integrated Word Processor

Integrated Word Processor functionality which can be used to create Standard Letters and Mail Merge documents without requiring the purchase of additional software.

Multiple Accounts per Patient Option

available if patients require more than one account per patient card e.g. a private account and a Workcover account.
